Curiosity & Passion in Photography.

What i love about photography was that its always refreshing and new. It could have been done by somebody else but because we made it our own, it looks different.  For the last few years, i;ve been trying out some new techniques underwater. Understanding and perfecting the technique was fun part cos i had some much learning experience. Without problems we can’t move forward

For example:

Infared Photography ( IR). How light and the sensor compliment each other. Finding out the types of subject to suit the shot. Understanding what colors works well when converted in IR. Unlike land IR photography which is much easier, underwater its more challenging.I learn that IR brings out details a lot more better for B/W than other technique. And colors can be very interesting after the convertion.

UNDERWATER HDR PHOTOGRAPHY
The challenge to UWHDR was finding the right subject for the shoot. Understanding the Nikon D3 setting a little more ( Read the Manual). Then control the processing mode on Photomatix. The problem with HDR when its over done, it looks like a freaking painting. but when done correctly, it brings out what the eyes actually see, HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE instead of Low Dynamic Range.

The P U R E Series.
Inspired by NGC Photographer David Doubilet. Without him, PURE wouldn’t not have come about. All shot underwater with an underwater Studio.
