After doing the P U R E series, i’ve learn that we could learn alot from others. I took NGC Photographer David Doubilet’s work as an example. Did some research and upon understanding his technique, i made tweaks to the style, layout and made it mine. Hence, the birth of  P U R E.

Recently in Hong kong, i had an opportunity to meet this talented man again. Having drinks with him, Jennifer Hayes, Micheal Aw and Dr Sylvia Earle was the highlight of my evening. We laugh, discussed stories and ate. By the end of the nite, i walked up to David and told him thanks for inspiring me.

He turn to look at me, pat me on the back and says ” Imran, i saw your cover, its beautiful! He continues to say, when a writer takes a paragraph off another writer’s column, it’s called plagiarism but in your case. Since you and me are photographers….
