Underwater IR Shots

Getting ahead of the game is always necessary. Understanding and knowing the trend and style is SUPER Important.

At a recent photo seminar, i was directed to a certain quotes by a famous photographer, “Sometimes its good to go back to basic or whats been done and actually won awards for. Why cos this are the style and trend that was long forgotten and could possible be a hit again”

So here i am again in at crossroad. A lot’s been spoken and tested on IR or Infa RED photography. An “infared filter”  lets infrared (IR) light pass through to the camera, but blocks all or most of the visible light spectrum (the filter thus looks black or deep red). I’ve tried it on land and the image produced can be really interesting and nice.

This was shot with a D70 IR modded camera with a 18- 70mmF3.5 -F5.6.

However talks ans discussion that i’ve noticed on forums and discussion rooms, was that its not possible to do IR underwater due to the lack of light and so. Curiosity got the best of me. I had to give it a good. So here’s a get set of my underwater IR shots.

So i guess it’s possible do it. You’ll just have to understand the amount of light, area of focus, WB to correct colors and last but not least a prime lense would be great for a start.

Look out for our ” I SEE RED ” UW Infa RED, Look book. Coming soon.
